Our story

The sourdough journey began as therapy when I found myself unemployed in the Fall of 2023. My husband, Chris and I have often dreamed of owning a coffee shop/cafe business but the baked goods were always going to be prepared by someone else.

Through Chris’ business I met someone who was baking sourdough bread. Growing a starter intimidated me, so God put her in my path. Rachelle graciously shared a very healthy and active starter with me.

It is so fulfilling to see basically 3 ingredients (flour, water and salt) become a work of art that is sooooo good! Kick in a few more ingredients and we create masterpieces.

I AM Sourdough is a small cottage bakery from our home that offers a weekly menu with constant and rotating items.

I AM Sourdough is rooted in the premise found in 1 Corinthians 15:10: But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.

We strive to use organic grains, fruits, and other ingredients, when possible, in our breads and specialty products.
